The exchange student much pay tuition plus a study abroad program fee of $300 per quarter. Students are responsible for paying passport, visa, air travel, transportation and living expenses. Living expenses are estimated at approximately $1400 per month.
This is an international exchange program based on an agreement between The Ohio State University and Nanzan University in Japan. One exchange student is selected each year to participate in this program. Students may register for any course offered by the Center for Japanese Studies. Students take Japanese language classes according to their level. They can also attend courses in Japanese and Asian culture, politics, economy, society, religions, literature and history, which are conducted in English. Students will take language courses in the morning and Japanese area studies, seminars and art courses in the afternoon.
Applicants must complete the OIA Study Abroad Application and submit it together with a $100 application fee. The OIA application fee is refundable only if the applicant is not accepted to the program or has submitted a letter of withdrawl from the program prior to the application deadline.
