OSU-Ichimiya Group Internship Program

  • Ichimiya Group companies will provide a ¥100,000 per month stipend for sundries and sustenance, as well as housing
  • OSU will offer a $2000 IJP USA Inc. Scholarship

Description
The purpose of the program is to provide the intern with direct experience in the day-to-day operations of a Japanese company as well as assisting employees of Ichimiya Group companies in learning about American culture.

The term of the program is either 6 months or one year, depending on the applicants' circumstances and Japanese language ability. However, all effort will be made to fill the position as a one-year term.

As this is expected to be an ongoing exchange, first-year Japanese language students are welcome and encouraged to inquire in advance about the program.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
  • be OSU undergraduate/graduate
  • hold US citizenship
  • be a native speaker of English
  • have studied or be currently studying the Japanese language (second year level or above)
  • have the ability to adapt to living and office conditions that are different from those in the US
  • demonstrate a sincere interest in Japan and Japanese culture and be willing to deepen one's knowledge of Japan

Knowledge of Japanese business and culture are beneficial, but not essential.
