Amount
Participants much pay tuition plus a study abroad program fee of $300 per quarter. Students are responsible for paying passport, visa, air travel, transportation and living expenses. Living expenses are estimated at approximately $1300 per month.

Description
The international exchange program is based on an agreement between The Ohio State University and the University of Tsukuba in Japan. One or two exchange students are selected each year to participate in this program. Students may register for any course offered.

Applicants must complete the OIE Study Abroad Application and submit it together with a $100 application fee. The OIE application fee is refundable only if the applicant is not accepted to the program or has submitted a letter of withdrawal from the program prior to the application deadline.

Applications are available at the OIE Study Abroad Office, located at 100 Oxley Hall.

Eligibility Requirements
Participants must:
  • be undergraduates of junior standing
  • have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • have completed at least two years of college-level Japanese
