Participants much pay tuition plus a study abroad program fee of $300 per quarter. Students are responsible for paying passport, visa, air travel, transportation and living expenses. Living expenses are estimated at approximately $1400 per month.
The international exchange program is based on an agreement between The Ohio State University and Waseda University in Japan. One to three exchange students are selected each year to participate in this program. Students may register for any course offered by the International Division Program. Students are placed in small language classes according to their level, while courses in Japanese and Asian culture, society, politics and economics are conducted in English.
Applicants must complete the OIA Study Abroad Application and submit it together with a $100 application fee. The OIA application fee is refundable only if the applicant is not accepted to the program or has submitted a letter of withdrawal from the program prior to the application deadline.
